We love Harvey Danger, but we also love hearing about successful entrepreneurs. Jeff Lin was a successful rock star and now is Cofounder and President of Captricity, a software company that creates products that allow anyone to turn paper-based data into structured electronic data. Mel Nelson loves coffee

Melanie Nelson and her husband, Andy own 5 Sparrows, a company dedicated to coffee. For the Nelsons, coffee is as much a way of life as an occupation. For eight years, they owned and operated a specialty espresso business on the beautiful west shore of Flathead Lake in Northwest Montana. They evolved into devoted baristas and found great pleasure in working with ther hearts, ther minds and ther hands as a means to connect with people.   It was out of this earnest dedication that 5 Sparrows was born.

In addition to being a teacher for 19 years, this husband, father, and activist co-founded Oakland, CA’s Homies Empowerment Program to stop gang violence. Cesar’s dream is to utilize his time at Harvard University to find funding and support to one day launch an after-school center for Oakland youth in areas of high gang violence.
